England's Jonathan Trott equalled the record for the fastest 1,000 one-day international runs by reaching the mark in his 21st innings during a World Cup match against Ireland on Wednesday.
Trott needed 64 runs at the start of his here at the Chinnaswamy Stadium to equal the record of West Indies great Vivian Richards and England team-mate Kevin Pietersen after coming in at 91 for one.
The 29-year-old South Africa-born batsman, who made his ODI debut against Ireland in Belfast in August 2009, reached four figures with two off left-arm spinner George Dockrell.
